Most people decide where to study English by comparing schools. Then they arrive, spend four weeks in a classroom, and go home having seen the inside of a building.
Da Nang works differently, and it is mostly down to geography. The beach is about ten minutes from almost anywhere in the city. You finish a morning class and you are on the sand by noon. That is not a marketing line, that is just how the city is laid out.
If you are looking at Vietnam for language study, here is what Da Nang actually offers, and what a month here looks like day to day.

Why Vietnam?
The Philippines was the default answer for a long time, and for good reason. But when one destination fills up with students from the same two or three countries, something quietly breaks: the immersion. You study English for four hours, then step outside and spend the rest of the day speaking your own language with people from home.
Da Nang is at a different point in that cycle. The international community here is real and growing, but it is genuinely mixed. Korean, Russian, Chinese, Western and Vietnamese people share the same cafes and the same coworking spaces. English is the language everyone defaults to, not a subject you study in a room.
That is the difference between practising English and using it.
Why Da Nang, and not Ho Chi Minh City?
Ho Chi Minh City is the obvious choice and it is a great city. It is also loud, enormous and permanently busy, which works against you if the reason you came was to focus.
Da Nang is compact. Nothing takes more than twenty minutes. The coffee culture is serious, the food is excellent, and the cost of living means you are not counting every purchase. Coffee runs under a dollar, a good meal is two to three dollars, and a comfortable apartment is 250 to 400 dollars a month.
It is a city where the daily routine supports the study instead of competing with it.

The school: Breeze Education
Breeze Education is a small centre in Son Tra district, teaching in Da Nang since 2017 and now past 200 learners. It is not a franchise and it is not an agency placement, the people who founded it are the people who teach.
- Alan, from the UK. Cambridge CELTA certified, over 8 years teaching IELTS and Business English in Vietnam.
- Chris, from the US. Over 5 years in Vietnam, with methods adapted to each learner.
- Chi, Vietnamese, 12 years living abroad. The bridge between cultures, and where most nervous beginners start.
There are three courses depending on what you need: IELTS preparation if you have a score to hit, Business English if meetings and presentations are the problem, and Communication English if you just want everyday conversation to feel easy.
The number that matters most is four. That is the maximum class size, and it is a structural commitment rather than a marketing claim.

Class size is not a detail. It decides how many minutes you actually spend speaking.

Breeze holds a 5.0 rating on Google reviews. One from a student sums up the approach:
“He always adjusted the lessons based on what I needed, so I could improve step by step without feeling stressed.”

What a week actually looks like
Class hours are only part of it. Every week Breeze runs a free English Social Club for students, at a real venue around the city: a cafe, a pizza place, a pickleball court, a movie night. The theme changes each time.
This is the part that surprises people. The hardest barrier for most learners is not grammar or vocabulary, it is the moment you have to use English with real people and nothing is scripted. Social Club is where that barrier comes down, over food, with nobody grading you.
Outside class and Social Club, the city does the rest. Morning class, afternoon beach, dinner somewhere local. It is a rhythm that makes it easy to keep going.
What about somewhere to stay?
Most people sort this out themselves and it is not difficult. Da Nang has plenty of options and a month is easy enough to arrange once you start looking.
If you would rather have a hand with it, just ask. We live here, so we can usually point you in the right direction. It is not a service and it is not part of anything, we would just rather you did not spend your first week worrying about it.

If you want to know more
Classes are built around your dates, so a shorter stay is not a problem, and a free trial lesson comes before any commitment.
You do not need any Vietnamese. Classes run in English, and the team can explain something in another language when a beginner needs it. Visa requirements depend on your passport and do change, so check the current rules for your nationality before booking flights.
Send a message with your dates and your goal, and you will get an honest answer about what is realistic in the time you have.
